Poco Verde finished painting outside wall, still not capped and rebar sticking out the top.
Painted first coat on outside wall.
Debbie Moles called and said that they are ready to plaster. She wants me to sign an addendum stating that everything is fine. She said that Scott had been out and the cracks are just surface cracks, nothing to worry about. I asked if he was looking at the same ones I saw. She will get back to me on this. I also told her about the water bib in the back that no longer works and that the construction crew has been using the neighbor’s water for their work. She stated that the fiber optics line for wok pot 3 will be put into flex conduit. They did not like to use flex due to it is hard to run the line inside it. (Like being poured inside concrete is easier to pull?) I e-mailed Debbie Moles the pictures of the cracks I saw.
Debbie,
I am sending you a couple pictures of the cracks I talked with you about on Wednesday. They are located on each side of the waterfall, flanking the sides of the tile.
The back hose bib that is connected to the automatic fill system is dead. I have not checked to see if it is the hose bib itself or if there is no water to that line anymore.
I also noticed where the waterfall meets the pool, the deck has chipped and cracked. I know these will be taken care of later when they come to finish the deck but I just wanted you to be aware of them.
So as I see it we are currently going to wait on the fiber optics for both the water sheer and the wok pot till after the pool has been plastered and filled. Then the deck and the wok pot base can be repaired, gate for equipment area re-hung, exterior yard wall capped and finished, planter refilled with dirt, salt system added, pressure gauge on cleaning system repaired, diving board, Jazz lighting controller, fiber optic controller and illuminator, and remote light/pump controller, will be installed at a later date barring any other problems don’t pop up.
Handy Randy came out and cut the tile below the water sheer. Debbie Moles called and said that they were all caught up on the project. I reminded her that the fiber optics at the water sheer and wok pots were still not complete. She said that they wanted to finish them last along with the deck repairs, so that it would not get broken again. I told her about the cracks in the planter face. The plasterers should be here on Monday or Tuesday.
Fiber optics in pot #3 replaced. Optics could not be run in conduit. A cut into the concrete at the wok pot base so that the optics line could be rerun into the wok pot. This will place the fiber optics inside the concrete base. If any service is ever needed to the cable, the base would need to be torn up to get to the cable. Debbie Moles called and left a message, she will call again on Thursday.
Fiber optics that was broken in pot #3 was pulled from their conduit. I noticed several cracks in the stucco on the face of the waterfall.
Wok pot bases textured and painted.
They were out to fill in the lines on the wok pot bases. George Smith was out to clean the interior of the pool.
Poco Verde removed wok pots. Fibre Creations came out to place fiber optics. Could not do water sheer due to placement too far into wall. No lip to mount to. Can not cut into the tile due to the light fires down and would be blocked by the tile. Number 3 wok pot fiber optic line broke. Have to re-plumb wok pot fiber optics.
Debbie Moles called and said that everything should be finished by Tuesday. Poco Verde cleaned up and finished their work on the planter. They are waiting for final inspection on the wall. They should be out to start on the wok pots next. She said that if I wanted, Poco Verde would refill the planter with dirt in a couple weeks. The fiber optics is set for Friday. I told her about the sheer not having the lip to mount the optics on. She will confirm this with Scott. Scott is working on the sheer lip and plans to cut the tile back.
Chris with Poco Verde stopped by to look over the job. He asked what color for the wall. I told him an off white would due. I asked him not to fill the planter with dirt; I would take care of it. He said that he called for final inspection on the outside wall. He would be done in a day or two. He just wants to clean up and backfill once inspected. He plans on working on the wok pots this week.
Front face of waterfall tiled. Side wall is almost complete. Tile sits flush with water sheer. There is no place for the fiber optics to mount.
“The Fiberstars Waterfall Light Bar can be installed
before or after the fall is installed. Note: Installation
of light bar on radius falls before the fall is installed is
recommended. Making sure the bevel on the
light bar track is angling away from the pool wall,
toward the back of the water (see Fig. 2). Simply
attach the light bar to the fall using clear PVC cement.
Be careful not to obstruct the water flow with the light
bar track or PVC cement. Pull fiber through the conduit
at the waterfall back to the illuminator location.
Important! On sheer falls there must be
1 1/8” between the finished tile and the front lip
of the fall. On Rain falls there must be 1 5/8”
clearance for installation of light bar.”
None of these instructions were followed as the water sheer is flush with the tile. These instructions were taken from Fiberstars website, http://www.fiberstars.com.
Side wall footer poured. Work on tile on top of planter.
Debbie Moles called and said the lines were going to be decked over and would be flat when finished. She stated that Poco Verde would be working this weekend. Side wall footer failed first inspection. Planter top tile started.
Side wall footer dug. Debbie Moles called. I told her about the accent line in the wok pots.
Stucco waterfall. Remove side yard wall. Attempt to repair line in wok pot bases. They accented the concrete pour line in the wok pot bases instead of filling it in.
